"I've been with Himalayan Yog Ashram for the Ashram stay for 10 days. It has been one of the best experiences in my life. All teachers are highly prepared and my absolute highlight of the day have been Teju's yoga philosophy teachings. He gave us such deep insights not only in philosophy but also in indian culture and ayurevedic knowledge. It has been really incredible! The food was simply delicious. The Ashram was clean and quiet. The position of the Ashram is also very strategic as you are away from the main traffic but in a few minutes by food you have super cute bars, restaurants and shops. Further I am really thankful also for the help that all the staff provided to me regarding airport transfers and sightseeing information and also the organization of specific requests by my side. "I was supposed to spend 10 days with the “ashram stay” formula only to stay with my wife while she was taking the Yoga Teacher Training. I thought I could just relax and read a book as I was not interested in Yoga. Well, it happened that I attended at ALL lessons! When following a sattvic diet, you avoid fried, processed, canned, and other items. This avoids cardiac problems and maintains a healthy level of cholesterol. Due to sattvic food's ability to keep our stomachs happy and promote simple digestion and absorption, diabetes and several malignancies are also avoided.

Our premier Yoga institute at the heart of Rishikesh instructs every student to be aware of the following policy guidelines for students:
The nearest domestic airport is the Jolly Grant Airport (approximately 35 km away) and the other International Airport is New Delhi Airport (250 km from Rishikesh). At both these airports, there is easy access to taxis and buses. If required, you can also contact the Ashram directly for the pickup (additional charges may apply).
The closest railway station is in Rishikesh Yog Nagri (approximately 6 km away). Also, Rishikesh Yog Nagari is connected to many main Indian cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi, and Lucknow. Upon de-boarding at the Rishikesh railway station, you can also book a taxi to the Ashram.
Bus / Cabs: Rishikesh has great road connectivity to all the Indian cities. Both private and government buses and Cabs are also available from different cities.

You need to arrive at the New Delhi airport. You can also get a connecting flight from New Delhi to Dehradun Airport which is very close to Rishikesh (30 minutes by taxi). Taxis can be booked through us from both airports at the actual cost.
